One morning, as I was on my way to work, I exited the train and a homeless woman asked me for money for herself and her small dog. I pulled out € 5 from my purse, gave it to her and went on my way. Then, my Lord spoke to me: “No, what you have given her is not enough. I want you to give more.”
My footsteps slowed down and all of a sudden this woman was standing in front of me again. “Would you like a warm jacket?” I asked her. “I am on my way to work, but I could bring it to you tomorrow. Where can I meet you?” She replied: “same place, same time,” turned and disappeared.
That evening, my husband and I began packing a care package for this woman. In addition to the promised winter jacket, we included food, a blanket for the dog, dog food and warm clothing.
Although I did not have to go to work the next day, I made my way in the icy cold to the city. We had put the care package in a trolley, so that I could transport it all. I arrived to the meeting point on time, but after waiting a while, the woman still did not arrive and I began to feel restless and sad. “God, you sent me here. What should I do now? Did I mishear you?” All of a sudden I had the feeling that I should get back on the train and head downtown. I exited and went through the streets praying, “God, show me the person who should receive this package as a sign of your love.” I walked a long stretch. It was cold, -3°Celsius and windy, but I wanted to continue until I found the person for whom this gift was meant.
Suddenly I saw two people at the entrance of a shop lying under a plastic sheet. As I got closer, I saw a young man and woman huddled closely together and sleeping on the ground in this cold. At that moment, I knew that these were the people God sent me to.
As I got closer and bent down, I had the sudden feeling that something miraculous was happening with me. It was not me handing the young man the coat – it felt as though I had left my body and it was the Holy Spirit performing this act through me. The eyes of the young arab-looking man began to shine. “Thank you!” he said and reached for the coat. As I explained that the whole trolley was for him, I felt that the miraculous love of God touched his heart. I told him that I would pray for him and for his girlfriend. “To Allah?” he asked. “No,” I replied, “I pray to Jesus Christ.
Although I left everything which I brought, I knew God wasn´t finished yet. Even before I asked him, he told me to give money for warm drinks. At this very moment I realised what God has given them today was more than food and clothes;
I understood what God is talking about in the bible in John 6  has started to become real for them: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body or about  what your will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap or store away in barns and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? God has given them "THE BREAD OF HEAVEN! Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him."
